Ballandean is ithin the epicentre of Quensland's premier wine region - the Granite Belt. There are eleven wineries within a few minutes from Smith's Vineyard - and more than 50 across the Granite Belt region.

There is a range of quality restaurants and cafes nearby - with others in Stanthorpe. 

Girraween is one of Queensland's most popular National Parks.  Discover the wild flowers, the great bush walks and rock climbs only 10 minutes away. Visit Sundown National Park in your 4WD.

Fresh local fruit and vegetables are available direct from orchards in the season.

Golf Tenterfield NSW (25 minutes) - often available weekends.  Carts for hire. Stanthorpe (18 minutes) - sometimes available weekends. Carts for hire. Wallangarra (15 minutes) - always available, plus practice fairways. All have grass greens.
